A car accident may have a major impact on the emotional, financial and physical well-being of a victim, as well as his or her family. In addition to injuries suffered, a car accident can leave victims with medical bills and lost wages. When the accident was the result of the other driver’s negligence, a victim may be entitled to file a personal injury lawsuit in a Colorado civil court against the other driver.

A recent three-car accident occurred on a recent Sunday evening in Adams County. The incident occurred in Federal Heights. Two individuals suffered critical life-threatening injuries, while three others were taken to a local hospital, Federal Heights Police say.

The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. when a driver was reportedly speeding, lost control of the vehicle and veered into oncoming traffic. According to the police report, the vehicle collided with a second vehicle, head on, after which a third vehicle then slammed into the second vehicle. Both individuals in the first car were ejected and suffered critical injuries. The drivers of the second and third vehicles, as well as another passenger, were also injured. Police believe that excessive speed and alcohol contributed to the accident.

When an individual is injured in a car accident, the victim may have an avenue for financial compensation. Specifically, the accident must have been the result of another party’s negligence. If evidence of negligence exists, the victim may choose to file a personal injury lawsuit in a civil court to pursue recovery of compensation for related losses, including lost wages and medical bills. An experienced Colorado personal injury attorney is often consulted to help with the claims process.
